Wedding Tip number 1

There is no time like the present! Start today, make a list of everything that has to be organised. I would suggest that when making such a list either leave enough room between each entry or use a page for each To Do.
This will enable you to make notes or jot down useful numbers and Websites.....You can even start with www.norfolkweddingdays.co.uk !!

Use the many wedding websites that are on the internet, some have forums where you can discuss many subjects with other Brides-To-Be.
There are many companies out there who can help organise your wedding, but if you are trying to keep the costs down then obviously this will be more expense for you.

Talk to relatives and friends, talk to married couples you know and ask for their advice.
Cast your mind back to past weddings that you have been to, remember the things that caught your attention, what did you like? What didn`t you like?
Make another list of ideas for your big day

Deciding on a venue, this can be very difficult as there are many fantastic venues around Norfolk, you can start by having a look at our Wedding Venues and Reception Venues to give you an idea.
This is a very important choice as this will probably affect 90% of your plans.
The most popular venues will be booked possibly many years in advance, so get in touch as soon as you can. I would suggest that this is one of the first things to arrange as then you can book everything else around the venue.

Next I would book the reception venue, this could even be the wedding venue as there are more and more places that cater for both.
Visit a number of places, speak to those concerned and obviously talk to anyone you know who has recently had their reception at that particular venue.
Think about the weather, what if it is raining? Will the venue be suitable? How will your guests travel from wedding venue to reception venue? Think of the distance between the two

Now the hard part!
Preparing your Guest List. Obviously your budget will dictate the number of people you can invite.
The wedding venue will also dictate the numbers. Remember though, this is your wedding day, so invite those that you really want there

Keeping the cost down is one thing, but do not cut too many corners.
I would employ a professional photographer and videographer, you will probably have many offers from friends and family to do this for you, but remember this day will never happen again so you want it recorded and remembered in the best way that you can.
Again have a look at the photographers and videographers listed on here to give you a start
