The Jonathan Wyatt Big Band

East Anglia`s premier big band.

The Jonathan Wyatt Big Band plays a wide variety of music, varying from the bluesy swing of Count Basie and his Orchestra, to modern up tempo funk and Latin music, as well as all the classic big band favourites.

Music from many of the great band leaders features in our library which has over 500 numbers in it; Musicians such as Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich...to name just a few. More recently the band`s library has grown to include new arrangements by some of the country`s leading composers and arrangers.

We play at a large variety of events including functions, shows, charity balls, private parties and weddings, as well as putting on regular theatre performances. Please check our event calendar to view future public gigs or contact us to discuss a booking.

Vocalists—The band works with a number of different vocalists, Phil Watson, Simon Denny and Joe Ringer provide our male Vocals in the styles of the classic ratpack, whilst female vocals are provided by Jacqueline Dempsey and Lindsey Ball. Please advise us of any preference of singer when you book the band. Or why not have more than one! If any particular singer is not available we will offer you suitable alternatives.

 Established by the maestro when he was just 17 years old, the band captures the sound of the big band era. As a band leader Jonathan takes pride in the versatility of the band which has performed at a wide range of venues, such as, theatres (including a Royal Gala Performance), for National Trust open air events and at private functions.

As well as concerts, the band is often booked for dances offering the chance for people to foxtrot, quickstep and jive to the fantastic sound of a live big band. Whether it is the nostalgia of the 1940`s or the excitement of big band jazz, The Jonathan Wyatt Big Band will always provide excellent entertainment.
